Spencer Studios — Studio Manager Transition Plan

Purpose of Role Transition

As Spencer Studios continues to grow, the studio structure is transitioning to better distribute responsibilities and improve long‑term sustainability. Spencer Miles will remain the owner of Spencer Studios while stepping back from day‑to‑day engineering and operational management duties.

A new Studio Manager position is being created to oversee the majority of studio operations, client communication, engineering workflow, scheduling, and social media coordination.

Studio Manager Position

Primary Responsibilities

Client Management & Communication

• Handle client acquisition onboarding and intake

• Manage scheduling and booking coordination

• Conduct client negotiation and communication through:

  • Text

  • Phone calls

  • Meta Messenger (Facebook / Instagram)

• Become the primary public studio contact number

• Follow up with prospective and returning clients

Studio Operations

• Control and manage the studio work schedule

• Coordinate studio workflow and session assignments

• Serve as the primary mix engineer and/or assign mix work to approved engineers

• Train and onboard new studio staff

• Maintain studio organization and cleanliness when necessary including:

  • Vacuuming

  • Trash removal

  • General organization

Marketing & Content Management

• Run Meta Business Suite communications

• Respond to Facebook and Instagram comments/messages

• Assist with or manage message campaigns and client follow‑ups

• Create and coordinate content for:

  • Facebook

  • Instagram

  • TikTok

  • Google Business

Financial & Administrative Coordination

• Track payments using My Music Staff

• Coordinate with Spencer regarding:

  • Financial decisions

  • Budget concerns

  • Profit tracking

  • Operational planning

• Consult with the owner on major studio decisions

Compensation Structure

Studio Manager Compensation

• Continued hourly compensation for recording sessions worked

• 50% of net (after expenses) monthly studio profits

Spencer Miles — Continued Responsibilities

Although stepping back from daily studio management and engineering operations, Spencer Miles will continue to oversee high‑level ownership responsibilities.

Ongoing Responsibilities

• Manage studio bank accounts and debt obligations

• Continue mastering all mixes

• Run Meta advertising campaigns

• Consult on major business decisions

• Train and support the Studio Manager

• Teach trombone lessons

• Maintain and manage the Wix website

• Consult and troubleshoot

• Run the LLC

Responsibilities Being Reduced or Eliminated

• No longer serving as primary mix engineer

• No longer running the majority of recording sessions

• No longer acting as day‑to‑day operations manager
