Spencer Studios aims to provide incredible quality at an affordable price. (map at bottom)
The recording session:
We focus on capturing great performances first — not rushing through recording, mixing, and mastering all in one hourly session. Making the distinction between a recording session and working on the mix is the process that all of the major labels of the best artists in the world follow. Our goal is to offer that same level of quality to the artists we work for by having the same workflow.
Recording sessions are dedicated to getting the best vocals possible. You’ll receive a rough mix delivered through our filepass after the recording session, so you can hear the track and your performance, but we don’t do a hurried final mix on the spot. Your art and how it sounds matters too much to rush through it.
Mixing and mastering are done separately, per song, with revisions included. We talk with you as the artist and together we come to a per-song rate that fits your budget. This allows us to take the time your record actually needs — the same way professional studios operate — so your music sounds polished, competitive, and release-ready.
We’d rather take the time to get it right than rush something average.
Every session starts with a quick vocal warm-up and mic shootout. We’ll have you run a few lines while we switch between different microphones to find the one that captures your tone, texture, and energy best. Every voice is different — so instead of forcing a one-mic-fits-all setup, we dial in the sound that elevates you most from the start. That way, we’re building your record on the strongest possible foundation.
Mixing & Mastering
If you are looking for true streaming and release-ready music our goal is to find a way to offer that service while also meeting your budget. Your recording engineer will work with you and analyze your music to find a rate per song that meets your price point.
Normal turnaround time is 1-3 days (delivered at -14lufs -1DbTp to avoid loudness normalization and translation issues)
All files are shared via the Filepass system so you as the artist can easily make time-stamped edit requests on the master. We don't count to a specific number of revisions or charge extra to do edits, we are not happy until you are happy.
Once you have approved your master music is released to you through Filepass.
